The Young Writer's Club

Let’s make this a productive summer to remember. As a 7-time published author, I want to help youth share their stories with the world. I am offering a summer writing workshop designed for youth 2nd-12th grade. They will be led in writing and publishing their first book. We will go step-by-step from start to finish. Writing, formatting, editing, illustrating and more. This is a great opportunity to assist today's youth in traveling down a path that could open doors to endless possibilities. This is a 10-week summer program that will conclude with each youth publishing their first book. This program is great for youth who love to write, those who love to draw or create digital art, and those who are just very expressive in their everyday lives. I believe every child has a story to tell that will inspire others, sometimes they just need a little help getting it out. Creating their own book will build self-esteem and a sense of accomplishment. Helping children find purpose while they are young helps them to avoid some of the potholes of life. In 1 Timothy 4:12 Paul told Timothy not to let anyone think less of him because he was young. He went on to say be an example in all areas of your life. As a mother, pastor and mentor, my heart is postured the same way. Today's youth are tomorrow's leaders. I count it as a blessing to inspire them to excel at a young age. This opportunity is not limited to a summer program, I am open to bringing it into schools, community centers, churches, and other group settings. Disclaimer: This is a Christ-centered program, so we will not be writing any stories that have to do with witches, sorcery, or any other subjects that are against Christian principles. The stories don't have to be faith based, they can be positive, and/or motivating. The goal is to use books to tell stories that inspire others.
